so~
Last week for dinner I made pork chops & green bean casserole...I know YUM!
fyi- disclaimer~ not for healthy conscious folks or vegetarians
it's comfort food!
it's comfort food!
Here is what you need:
pork chops{i buy my meat products at costco}
canned green beans
cream of mushroom
french fried onions
1 egg
oven fry, shake n bake{i prefer} or bread crumbs of some sort
garlic
pepper
salt
Pork Chops, season to taste
then, follow box directions or if your using bread crumbs- wet the pork chops in the egg wash
and then coat it in the bread crumbs
then, lay in a baking pan
bake as instructed on box or 25-30 minutes on 375
{I like mine well done & crispy}
super easy right?
Now, ready for the green bean casserole??
grab your can opener and open up your canned green beans...
pour them out on a 9x12 baking dish as I have below
throw it in the oven with the pork chops and cook until the cream of mushroom looks bubbly..I'd say 20 minutes...
then, open your can of french fried onions and layer the top of the dish and put back in the oven for 5 minutes or less...just until the onions get warm and look a little bit greasy{doesn't sound good but...}
and there you go...a comfort food at it's best!

You had me at "comfort food" and "cooler weather"! It's under 100 degrees and I am feeling like it's fall! LOL! ONLY in Texas! Love your recipe! But more importantly, your kindess towards me has inspired another transformation in my life! Let's continue to stay in touch! : )
ReplyDeleteI am the same way! I hate to cook in the summer, but I can spend all day in the fall and winter cooking up a storm! There is just something so cozy about a warm good smelling kitchen when it is cold outside!Green bean casserole is the hubs favorite, but since his heart attack I don't make it to often anymore.
